Funeral At The Movies

Orchard Street, Lower East Side, New York City, yesterday afternoon, on the way to Fontana's, a couple of hours before passing out on the couch at 7:30pm.

I'm still tired as hell, but I got a sweet lid.

Now I can go out in style!

We Have Many Things In Common, Name Three...

A little intermission from Lou Reed's "Berlin."
Get some popcorn and a Coke.
Spike that Coke with some whiskey.
Smoke a cigarette.
Think about the film you just saw.

This film always makes me cry.
The director is from Athens, Georgia.
It's a masterpiece.

But side 2 of "Berlin" is gonna start in three minutes and twenty-five seconds, so don't tarry...

The intermission goes like this:

"Now I'm not feeding off you, I will rearrange your scales
If I can, and I can
March into the ocean, march into the sea

I had a hat I put it down and it sunk, reached down,
Yanked it up, slapped it on my head
All the people gather
Fly to carry each his burden
We are young despite the years we are concern
We are hope despite the times
All of the sudden, these days
Happy throngs, take this joy wherever, wherever

I wish to meet each one of you
And you, me, you, if I can and I can
We have many things in common, name three

I had a hat and it sunk, reached down,
Yanked it up, slapped it on my head
All the people gather
Fly to carry each his burden
We are young despite the years we are concern
We are hope despite the times
All of the sudden, these days
Happy throngs, take this joy wherever, wherever you go

Now I'm not feeding off you I will rearrange your scales
If I can and I can
I wish to eat each one of you and you, me, you

I had a hat and it sunk, reached down,
Yanked it up, slapped it on my head
All the people gather
Fly to carry each his burden
We are young despite the years we are concern
We are hope despite the times
All of the sudden, these days
Happy throngs, take this joy wherever, wherever you

Carry each his burden
We are young despite the years we are concern
We are hope despite the times
All of the sudden, these days
Happy throngs, take this joy wherever, wherever you go."

I'm off to buy a hat...

How Do You Think It Feels...

...and when do you think it stops?

Track #5 from "Berlin." Five more to go...
I hope you all are "enjoying" it.

And I know I don't have to say this, but I will: actually, I don't give a fuck whether you are or not.

Hair Pillow

I don't even want to talk about the STT show last night.

But I will anyway...

It fucking sucked.

Kind of like paying to see The Beatles reunion and then upon them taking the stage, being told that John and George had died and were being replaced by some guys from Creed.

Harsh, but true. Where the fuck were Nate and Stu?

I love me some Craig Wedren, but dude - truth in advertising? Bait and switch? C'mon...

My favorite thing about this band is the WAY that Nate ATTACKS his guitar and augments Craig's histrionics.

Nope.

It fucking sucked.

The Bowery Ballroom should have called it "Craig Sings STT" and then - well, I probably would not have gone.

Unfortunately I did. And left early.

Evidence

Photographer Tanya Dakin, from about a year and a half ago. I was clearly in a state of decline. But Chuck Close's "Kate" photo gave me enough energy to lift my arms. I was surprised that my friend Chris told me the other night that Kate was his favorite too...

Photographer Tito Trelles, from two weeks ago. I was clearly in better shape physically (or at least I'd shaved). Taken whilst I was shooting a "Self-Portrait" with April, from Canada. I was surprised that my friend Tito didn't send me this. April did.

I have good (and talented) friends. I think I may have mentioned that one before.

She Had To Go Insane. It Had To Be That Way.

Most of my best friends are female.

So, I talk to them about my female problems. And my male problems. And my non-gender specific problems and concerns.

Sometimes they sulk. Sometimes they spout brilliant philosophy. Sometimes they judge. And sometimes they are jealous. Which is inappropriate.

Human nature.

They are all of these things. And I love that. And all of them.
